Fragile: Sculpture on papier-mâché and industrial waste materials (2023-2024)

Fragile reflects the paradox between material permanence and existential fragility. In the post-industrial era, where human existence is increasingly intertwined with technological dependency and overconsumption, this project interrogates the contradictions of progress: Why do materials designed for durability become transient in their utility? 

Using discarded technological waste—obsolete circuit boards, microchips, earphones, industrial plastics—alongside other urban debris such as mannequins, foam, packing tape, and wood shavings, I explore the concept of post-artificial materials. These materials embody the detritus of an era that is collapsing under the excesses of its own production.

Fragile phản ánh sự đối lập giữa hai trạng thái: vật chất kiên cố và bản thể mong manh. Trong bối cảnh hậu công nghiệp, nơi con người ngày càng lệ thuộc vào công nghệ và tiêu thụ, dự án này truy vấn những nghịch lý của sự phát triển: Tại sao những gì được xem là bền vững về mặt vật chất lại có thể trở thành thứ phù du trong giá trị sử dụng? 

Bằng cách sử dụng rác thải công nghiệp và đồ công nghệ lỗi thời—những vật thể bị bỏ rơi như bo mạch, vi mạch điện tử, tai nghe, nhựa tiêu dùng—tôi khai thác khái niệm "chất liệu hậu nhân tạo" (post-artificial materials). Chúng đại diện cho dấu vết của một nền văn minh đang thoái hóa từ chính sự thặng dư của nó.
